Needling Therapy

Since 1938 the scientists studied the pain that originate from the muscle. By years and different knowledges that concept upgraded from wet needling by using different substances like Anaesthetic, anti-inflammatory, Autologous injection…etc to became Dry Needling after the great discovery in 1979 by Karel Lewit who confirm through the research that release of the trigger point came from the Needle effect (converted to Local Twitch Response) not from the Anaesthetic. By the way, Lewit suggested using the Acupuncture Needle rather than the Hypodermic needle for safety purpose. However, the term of Dry Needling is a confusing term which has different approaches like superficial and deep, static and dynamic…etc which required more organization. For that reason in 1980 Chan Gunn Introduce the term of Intramuscular stimulation to make it more specified. We are in Dynamic Fascia gives the term of Needling Therapy for two approaches which is Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) and Intrafascial Stimulation (IFS) based on Anatomical presentation and physiological effect. Also, that approaches presented based on the different pathologies. Briefly, Needling Therapy is an upgraded concept of Dry Needling.
